fun at training

I have said already that work will be one of the few things il speak about here… but I can’t stop speaking about my training!

The training started with an ice-breaking session at Taj Connemara that made sure we did laughter therapy and clapping therapy!! ;)
Our 15 days of training consisted of 10 days at padur (near sholinganallur). All of us were captivated by the beauty of that place. No one can say whether its an office or a resort!! Amazing!!

There were lots n lots of learning about the company its policies and my dept in particular. I also got to know about the various means thro which I can grow with the company, shift verticals if necessary n go thro job rotation at intervals so that v get to know everything about a particular sector n also abt diff sectors that exist there.
I was a sponge absorbing and observing all that was told to me for those 10 days!!
Guys around me were too gud with whom I had lots of fun, who made me regret for the 1st time for not getting myself into in a coed college. This changed the whole perspective I had on guys so far!!

And on the 11th day all of us had to get bac to our dept… each one in a diff dept and with diff shifts… dono whether vl meet n have the same fun again. But these days will really be close to my heart. We found it difficult to part even though v knew each other only for 10 days!! That will tell u what a lot of quality time v would have spent together!!

When I entered my office campus I did not know where to go n whom to meet but now I have a whole lot of friends to shake hands with whenever I move around……

ALL THAT BEGINS WELL ENDS WELL ....

Yesterday I went for an outing with my whole dept at office!! So the dept at work went out to have some fun at Queens Land an amusement park in Chennai.
Wow! What an amazing experience it was! At first I wondered whether it would b enjoyable because I knew only 5 people out of the 40 who came. And by the time we reached back I knew around 25 of them. It was a very nice experience to move around with people n sharing our thoughts n views on various topics which would never have been possible otherwise. May be I would have known only my own team mates n not so many from the dept as such. I feel this is really important because if there is no much interaction between people it may increase the attrition rate of the company. The team members may fail to coordinate properly. For any type of industry the personal rapport is more important than the official bondage.
The arrangements were made with great amount of planning which made sure that all of us enjoyed.
I was surprised by the amount of care they gave to new employees like me! Since it was too late they gave me at drop back home. I was requested to give a call to my colleague as soon as I reached home just to ensure I was safe!

Hmmm… it is indeed a great start coz I have not yet started working at the office (still under training) but had gone for the outing!!

Life’s cherished moments…..nostalgia at its peak!

Some smiles, some laughter...
Some sorrows, some happiness,
And most of all cherished moments... .
Is what life gifts us - gifts to treasure,
Rather than measure,
Emotions to be understood
rather than felt,
Moments to be cherished,
Rather than thought of,
These are the gifts given to us by life,
To strive, live and be happy.

Thot of sharing with u all the best things that happened in life that I treasure the most n long that it would happen again!

Today my bedroom has sophisticated a/c with the most costly blanket and a foam bed but I can never have a sound sleep without my moms old cotton sari covered over me! Guess it has got a miraculous power…

Best games I ever played pallanguzhi, thayakattam with paati(who lost every time to make me win!)

First movie at the theater – Paati Sollai Thattaathe (wondered tat the screen looks exactly like tv but is too huge!!)

first teacher – best teacher, Vallery Williams who is definitely next to my mom!

1st boy friend Aman Deep who was there with me in U.K.G. He was the chubbiest guy in the class (similar to kids in ads now-a-days), was truly a bodyguard for me. I can still remember the lines he said “saraswathi, u don’t fight with him. I will fight with him!! (He left to Bombay after that one year. Don’t remember his face too much now. Aman Deep r u reading this?!)

My first appearance on a skit when I was in class 3. The skit was supposed to be the next day but I had mistaken it to be on that day n was beautifully dressed up as an angel!! If only that had to happen today imagine the amount of embarrassment and humiliation I would have… but then I was in school throughout the day dressed up as an angel without even a slightest discomfort!!

My First stage song at school when I was in my 4th standard…..shouting on top of my voice to sing “ennavale” (from the movie kadhalan originally sung by Unnikrishnan) to perfection ….. Never knew the meaning of “stage fear”…. But now I tremble with fear to sing but feel speaking is much easier!!

In my farewell at the 10th std I was invited to sing. I sang venmathiye from the film minnale, after which I was titled “Nightingale of St.Kevin’s” something that makes me proud always!
I feel particularly thankful today .. for all these life's best moments…………

FIRST DAY FIRST JOB

Yesterday I showed up to work at 9am beautifully dressed (I guess I was) in a maroon colored embroidered salwar and of course with full enthu coz its my first day at the first job!!
I entered looking around thro all the greenery and was totally amazed by the atmosphere and ambience! What an awesome place it is?!

First of all, the 70 of us who had got in thro the same off-campus had to spend three hours with the hr for filling up various forms which were a part of the joining procedure, was quite boring.

Wearing the temporary ID card itself boosted my esteem! But I had to call people to open the doors coz my temporary ID cannot be used as the access card to open the doors! I guess it will be too humiliating for the next few days until my permanent ID is issued.

After lunch I went to the dept allotted to me and my TL introduced me to 50 people, saying a ‘hi’ n ‘hello’ to every one, wearing a big smile (that costs nothing, right?). And for their names… I am extremely bad at remembering them! I've forgotten all but for five of my team mates. I have only so many slots in my short term memory. Many weeks of "hey...you there..." to follow.

I am to attend induction program on 12th n 13th at a hotel in Chennai, followed by training at padur from 14th onwards (heard padur is too good for ambience n food! I have been advised by my team mates to enjoy the most there!)
My work should start soon after training with Singapore timings (6.00 to 16.30 IST…. I HAVE SEEN THIS TIME ONLY EVERY DIWALI!!!!!!!!)

First day excitement and nervous energy dissipates by the afternoon, resulting in the afternoon crash into near-sleep. (Hearty lunch at saravana bhavan may also have contributed to this.)

So, yeah, I got a new job. And this is probably the last you'll hear of it because work is one of the few things I don't talk about here.
Postings may be light as I get adjusted to the new routine……..
